Sky: Milan in talks with Lukaku’s agent and Chelsea – battle with Napoli expected

By Oliver Fisher -

It looks like being a battle between AC Milan and Napoli to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea this summer, according to a report.

Sky claim that Napoli are looking for a new striker with Victor Osimhen almost certain to depart the club this summer. Once sold they will have quite a bit of money, and they are evaluating the idea of signing Lukaku after a mixed season on loan at Roma.

He is back at Chelsea now after his loan ended while also at the European Championship with Belgium, who will face Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan’s France in the last 16 stage on Monday evening.

Napoli sporting director Manna has had his eye on him for some time and could try to leverage the excellent relationship that Lukaku has with Antonio Conte, who was recently unveiled as the new head coach of the Partenopei.

Given the stalemate over Joshua Zirkzee, Milan have also restarted contacts with Lukaku’s entourage as per the report. There have also been discussions between the management and their Chelsea counterparts too.

Milan are pushing for a loan deal while Chelsea want a large part of his salary covered. A meeting has been scheduled with the player’s agent to understand the feasibility of the operation.

  1. Good player, obviously exceptionally strong, but not the quickest, and possibly past his best. I think Milan should be looking for someone younger and hungrier.

    1. My friend we had to deal with Giroud who was WAY past his best and couldn’t even run but we made him work, Lukaku is 31 he should be fine. This guy is a proven goalscorer and is exactly what we need right now. I’d rather have Lukaku than Zirkzee, get him and Dovbyk and we should be fine.

  2. Juve already get di gregorio and douglas luiz. Inter already get zielinski, taremi, and martinez.

What happen with milan. Are the management sleepy or lazy.
