Sky: Milan want to sign another striker in addition to Giroud – the name on pole

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are not just expected to go into the new season with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud as their only attacking options, a report claims.

Manuele Baiocchini gave an update to Sky Italia (via MilanNews) and confirmed that Giroud should arrive at Milan on Monday for his medical tests. The Rossoneri will pay Chelsea €1m plus €1m in bonuses that are quite difficult to achieve, and just the definition of the terms of the bonuses is missing for the full agreement.

Regardless of the arrival of Giroud, Milan also believe they need a striker who is young and has potential, with Kaio Jorge of Santos names as a target. The 19-year-old Brazilian would arrive in January on a free transfer, while there is also Lorenzo Colombo who is at preseason with the team.

Giroud will not be the only signing for the attack therefore,  strategy is to sign another striker who can grow alongside two champion veterans.

  1. It is a shame and a pity that AC.Milan is buying an old and worn-out football player who will bother more than help, Giroud has the strength as Mandzukic. It’s a horror that is hard for any Milan fan to watch watching a big club humiliate itself and buy trash

  2. I prefer Scamacca to be the young striker we get he already knows the league and his playing style is similar to Ibrahimovic playing style!

  3. Giroud is a great signing….as a BACKUP. Same with Ibra at this stage of his career and with all of the injuries. We are going the cheap route. No Valhovic, Belotti, Edouard, etc….Kaio Jorge is our best bet cause he’s young and cheaper (10) than Valhovic (50-60) who isn’t for sale this year anyways. Just hate to see what happens when both Ibra and Giroud gets injured and we have to rely on a 19 year old to lead the line….so sad
