Sky: Milan’s chances of signing talented forward dealt a big blow by Sampdoria’s firm stance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Sampdoria winger Mikkel Damsgaard but seem very unlikely to land him, according to a report.

A number of different sources have reported that Milan want to sign Damsgaard as he is having a fantastic European Championships with Denmark after a promising first year in Serie A with Sampdoria. Considering he is only 20 years of age, there appears to be a lot of potential in the player.

However, journalist Luca Marchetti has spoken to Sky (via MN24) about the future of Damsgaard, who is generating a lot of discussion at the moment amid reports other teams are also interested in signing the forward.

The journalist is adamant that Damsgaard won’t leave Samp this summer. Milan like the player, but Sampdoria do not want to sell another young jewel and therefore they plan to hang onto him and help him grow in the next season.

  1. Krunic + 20M for Damsgaard…..we need him as our next 10…..Instead of Selling Hauge or Leao or Olzer….give them Krunic + 15M for Damsgaard.

    1. It’s not his primary role which means he might not be effective as someone who is a natural #10. I just hope that for no reason should they sell Leao

  2. Better Sampdoria refuse to sell. We are in the Champions league this season and we need enough depth. Hauge is very important to us please. Allow our young stars to stay and give them a chance.

  3. Since Hauge came to Milan, he became silent. He was playing regularly at Bodo Glimit thats why we signed him. The little chance he was given from bench he scored goals. What else do you need from this lad. Am disappointed in this project

  4. We have no money yet we are linked with players who are at the top of their value??? Damsgaard was available a month ago for 15m and now he’s worth 40-50 and we are interested in buying him?LOL. With what $$? This is a joke. We want to buy high and sell our own players low. How has that worked out? Locatelli, Cristante, Paquetta, Andre Silva, Pessina, etc…Can we not give a player like Hauge a chance? I don’t understand what we are doing. We are back to loans and free transfers apparently lol. What a joke. Also, Nobody wants to come to us anymore because we won’t pay them what they will make in other leagues. So sad and disappointing
