Sky: Milan’s probable XI for Roma clash – one major doubt remains to resolve

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to go back to the starting line-up which got the better of Napoli over the three recent meetings for the game against Roma tomorrow.

According to Sky, it seems as though Pioli has made his choices in view of tomorrow’s match at the Stadio Olimpico, the outcome of which will have a big bearing on who ends up finishing inside the top four given the sides are tied on 56 points.

The report claims that Olivier Giroud – who missed the Lecce game with Achilles tendon discomfort – is doing better and has returned to training with the rest of his team-mates.

Davide Calabria returns to the back four after serving his suspension, while Simon Kjaer is the favourite over Malick Thiaw at the moment in the only defensive doubt.

There are no doubts about Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao starting as well as Brahim Diaz and Giroud. However, Bennacer could be used alongside Sandro Tonali or as the attacking midfielder.

Them, Brahim would play either on the right or as the playmaker depending on where the Algerian starts, and Alexis Saelemaekers would act on the right flank if he were central.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic; Brahim Diaz, Bennacer, Leao; Giroud.
