Sky: Milan’s probable XI to face Inter – Pioli makes bold choices with wing spots up for grabs

By Oliver Fisher -

There continues to be conflicting reports regarding the starting XI that Stefano Pioli will use for tomorrow’s derby against Inter.

While La Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Pioli will choose Alexis Saelemaekers on the left wing to replace Ante Rebic and Samu Castillejo on the right, Sky Italia – as seen below – think that the Belgian will be on his favoured right wing with Brahim Diaz preferred on the left.

How Pioli chooses to line his troops up remains to be seen, but we already know that he will be without Rebic due to the fact he is still recovering from a dislocated elbow, while Matteo Gabbia and Leo Duarte have COVID-19 and Mateo Musacchio is still recovering from injury.

That means that aside from the two wing spots, the rest of the starting XI basically picks itself, with Calabria-Kjaer-Romagnoli-Theo Hernandez as the back four, Bennacer-Kessie in the midfield and Calhanoglu as the playmaker behind Ibrahimovic.
