Sky: Milan’s probable XI to face Verona – Four changes as Tomori replaces Romagnoli

By Isak Möller -

Milan are preparing for what will be a tough away clash on Sunday, taking on 9th-placed Hellas Verona. The Bentegodi side have been in good form as of late and the same can’t be said for the Rossoneri.

The draw against Udinese mid-week was certainly disappointing, as it finally seemed they were back on the right back after the win at Roma. For Sunday’s game, Stefano Pioli is set to make four changes to the starting XI, per Sky Italia.

Fikayo Tomori will replace Alessio Romagnoli in the heart of the defence and Davide Calabria will also be back from start. Both were rested against Udinese due to fatigue, although the right-back came on in the second half.

In the attacking trio, Alexis Saelemaekers will replace Samu Castillejo on the right-wing and Rade Krunic will be the trequartista, instead of Brahim Diaz. Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic will complete the lineup, with the former set to play up front.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Hernandez; Tonali, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Krunic, Rebic; Leao.

great news….Tomori has less positional awareness but his effort in duels and tenacity are great….plus he has the pace to keep Lasagna qqueit. We don’t win games with Romagnoli playing,…his effort is off…seems to have wrong attitude and is Donnarumma and Kessie provide good performance and leadership…we have to sell him in the summer..his progression has stopped and he is not what a Milan Captain should be

When Lasagna was at Udinese he liked playing down the left. If that’s the case, Kjaer could be in for a long night with his pace.
This and the fact that Tomori didnt seem comfortable as a left sided centre back the last game gives me concern. But i dont mind the lineup even though I’d prefer stability in a few games on the trot for Romagnoli. I think if anything have rebic play as the striker and exploit Leao’s pace on the wings.
