Sky: Milan’s seven absent players and when each one will return

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan currently have several players unavailable, and a report has suggested when each player should be back to feature in Stefano Pioli’s side.

Sky Italy have reported all of the players not available to feature on Serie A Matchday 22, whether due to injury or absence and in that list, there are dates given for Milan’s absentees.

Firstly, there are Ismael Bennacer and Samuel Chukwueze, who will both return after the African Cup of Nations. Nigeria play Cameroon on Saturday, and a loss would see the winger return shortly after. Algeria are currently bottom of their group, but they can still progress, so his return may be before that of his Nigerian teammate.

Then, there is the list of players who are injured. In midfield, there is only Tommaso Pobega sidelined with injury. The 24-year-old suffered an injury to his thigh and is due to return in April.

In defence, or rather central defence, there are four currently out. Mattia Caldara, Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw will all return in February – the Italian defender has not got a specified timeframe, whereas the Englishman and German will be back in the middle of the month, and Pierre Kalulu is set to return in March.
