Sky: Milan’s stance on idea of cut to players’ salaries during Coronavirus emergency

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are waiting for a collective decision from the league regarding the cutting of salaries during the COVID-19 emergency, a report claims.

Yesterday it was officially announced that Juve would be cutting the salaries of players – obviously with their agreement – for the months of March, April, May and June. It was suggested by La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday that Milan could follow suit and save up to €16m in the process.

Journalist Manuele Baiocchini spoke to Sky Italia about the Rossoneri’s stance, and revealed that Milan has a willingness to wait for a collective decision. Juventus decided to proceed alone, but the Diavolo are happy to see what other teams’ intentions are and what a potential league-wide stance could be.

The club dealt with the topic internally, but without in-depth analysis. There have been video calls with the players, in particular with those who are the leaders of the dressing room, but the cutting of salaries has not yet been discussed.
