Sky: Milan’s training sessions now behind closed doors per Ibrahimovic’s orders

Unlike previous years, it will now be difficult for fans and journalists at Milanello to catch a glimpse of the training sessions. As per Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s order, fences eliminating the view from the outside have been put up at the training ground. 

Paulo Fonseca’s first training session as the manager took place on Monday and since it was the Raduno, fans and journalists were allowed to watch up close. However, there will be none of that during the season, quite the opposite.

Speaking live on Sky Italia earlier today, as cited by Radio Rossonera, Peppe Di Stefano shared an update on the training ground and Ibrahimovic’s orders to the club. Indeed, more fences have been put up to block the view from the outside.

“Where the Primavera trained until last year we will have to get used to seeing, or catching a glimpse of, the Milan Futuro team. It will be a mix of youngsters like Zeroli and Camarda and experienced players like Longo.

“The strange thing is that at Milanello this year, all the pitches, and I believe it was a decision by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, will be fenced off and closed. It will all be top secret, you won’t be able to see them. Even the entrance door, a classic automatic gate, is now armoured,” he stated.

Only time will tell if this change will help Milan, but it certainly makes sense to be a bit more secretive about the style of play and tactics ahead of the games. For example, the starting XI tended to leak very early – quite often as well – during Pioli’s tenure.
