Sky: Pioli has just one XI doubt for Milan’s clash against Dortmund

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will take on Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening and the starting XI will be pretty similar to the one we saw against Lazio. There could be a couple of changes, though, with one doubt in Stefano Pioli’s mind.

The Rossoneri did well to clinch all three points against last night but Ruben Loftus-Cheek left the pitch with an injury. He will thus miss the game against Dortmund and Yunus Musah will start in his place.

According to Sky Italia, as cited by Radio Rossonera, Pioli has just one doubt about the XI and that is Adli-Pobega. Should the Frenchman start, then Tijjani Reijnders will be on the left whereas if the Italian starts, Reijnders will be the No.6.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Musah, Adli/Pobega, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

Malick Thiaw was rested against Lazio and will be back from the first minute, while Olivier Giroud will be hoping to redeem himself after a goalless birthday yesterday. In the coming days, the selection should be more clear.

  1. Only 2 games to go. They need to push themselves to far end and what happens- happens.

Dortmund is so much Important game, and Genoa as well. After those two games is rest and recovery for injury players.

  2. Dont get those fans who never praise when someone does something good and once they do one bad thing they are the worst. As if those fans do everything right in there life’s.

  3. Pobega doing good lately. Have faith. He’s been much less panicky on the ball. Whoever plays we’ll be good on that position, players definitely matured and we got good backups in every position except for LW

  4. Pobega played well against Lazio and he made a key pass to Leao before Leao gave assist to Okafor.

I hope he plays well if Pioli used him against Dortmund. His long range shoot also pretty good. Milan needs a player who have good long range shoot like Pobega.

  5. He can’t possibly be considering Pobega over Adli or Musah…That’s ridiculous.
And how is Calabria keeping his starting spot? Florenzi has not only outplayed Calabria offensively, but he has even been better defensively this season.

  6. Off point but i will like if pioli can give okafor the chance from the first minutes IMO though cos the intensity of game against Dortmund will be high so reason why we need someone who can hold the ball dribble and pass to create space for other players.

  7. Adli needs continuity. Pobega plays like a brick and should come in at some point in the second half. REIJNDERS is too critical going forward to play as a 6.

How is this even a consideration?

    1. At times like this, I really miss Bennacer or even Krunic. Musah and Reijnders would be wasted as a 6, all that’s left is Adli and Pobega, who have more negatives than positives. Let’s see what Pioli decides to do.

  8. Pobega is much better both defensively and offensively. Have faith. Adli can come at some point but I really dont see why as he does not offer any improvement in any aspect of the game
