Olivier Giroud isn’t getting any younger but remains an important player for AC Milan. Therefore, Stefano Pioli must use the veteran striker carefully, especially when the schedule is tight like next week.
The Rossoneri will take on Juventus this Sunday evening and just three days later, they will face Paris Saint-Germain away from home. Four days after that, they will take on the reigning champions Napoli – also away from home.
As stated by Peppe Di Stefano on Sky Italia (via Radio Rossonera), Pioli must decide between the Juventus and Napoli clash for Giroud. The Frenchman will ‘no doubt’ start against PSG mid-week and will thus need some rest in one of the other two games.
The only other solution is to do some ‘smart rotation’, as Di Stefano calls it, where Giroud plays just smaller parts of each game. The feeling is that Noah Okafor or Luka Jovic will get the chance from start in one of the three games.
