Sky: Pioli set to rotate in defence for Sassuolo game – Romagnoli likely to get the nod

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli could choose to rotate some players for Wednesday’s game against Sassuolo, particularly in defence.

After ending their four-game winless streak at San Siro with a 2-1 victory over Genoa yesterday, the Rossoneri know that another three points is desperately needed in the push for a top four spot.

According to what is being reported by Manuele Baiocchini for Sky Italia (via MilanNews), there could be a change of line-up and it concerns the rearguard. Pioli’s main centre-back pairing for the home straight will be Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori, a duo that has done very well in these last few matches.

However, in the match against Sassuolo there will be a small rotation as Alessio Romagnoli – who has just come back from a rather long absence due to a muscle problem – should take up a place in the 11 with Kjaer the most likely to be rested at this stage.
