Sky: Pioli led today’s session at Milanello without directors present

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli was left to his own devices at training this morning as only his staff were present, rather than any of the Rossoneri directors.

As has been reported by Sky Sport Italia (via Milan News), the Rossoneri underwent a rare Saturday recovery session soon after returning from Salerno.

The team had been in Campania to face Salernitana on Friday night and the game ended 2-2. Fikayo Tomori gave Milan the lead but Federico Fazio and Antonio Candreva both scored to make it 2-1.

After Tomori had gone off with a muscle injury, Luka Jovic managed to score a 90th-minute equaliser which secured a point for Milan, but did not really change the negative feeling around the team and the season.

Having travelled north to Milan, the players engaged in a light session at Milanello which none of the upstairs names, such as Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada, were present for.

It is not clear why no directors were present. It is most likely that after a long journey back from Salerno, they felt their time was better spent elsewhere.

There is no suggestion that Pioli will be sacked before the match against Sassuolo on December 30, but anything other than a win there could be terminal.

  1. Sure he’s alone, errand fart sniffers took a hike. What to expect from spineless snakes and cowards those bankers are. It takes character to stand with your people when things go to hell. This club has no character anymore.

  2. And still he said he’s not alone. Should’ve left when they sacked Maldini and Massara. He should’ve known better he’s been punching beyond his weight for a reason.

    1. That’s my thinking. He lost alot of respect for me for not doing the right thing and that was to resign. If Maldini was fired because of the choices they all made as a group then I’d resign as well as they all were part of the level of performance.. instead he chose to absolve himself from any blame, and spoke in the media as if he didn’t get his way before ie that he has the players he wants, the system he wants to play and the squad is good enough to win. Instead he’s stuck here with a team that got knocked out of the UCL and doing worse than last year round for round in the league

  3. Stefano Pioli your the cause of your problem I warned about your stupid tactics of 4-3-3 I’m sorry if you don’t resuffle this tactics to the 4-2-3-1 that gives us this league this will definitely be the end of the road for you because everything you have done is just wrong

  4. Weirdest football I have ever seen at Milan. As soon as we got possession we would instantly look clueless/lost/disorganized. What do they even do in tactical training? Also what do they even do in physical training? Why do healthy players keep picking up injuries? If the coach cannot answer these questions I really do not understand why he is still here.
