Sky: Pioli tried Brahim in the right-wing position – could start against Inter

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Inter this evening and in the last few hours, there have been some contradicting reports with regards to the Rossoneri’s starting XI. Late last night, a new update arrived on the matter.

According to Peppe Di Stefano, speaking live on Sky Italia last night (via MilanNews), Stefano Pioli tested Brahim Diaz in the right-wing position during training. It doesn’t come as a huge surprise since Alexis Saelemaekers hasn’t impressed lately.

Rade Krunic remains ahead of the Spaniard when it comes to starting in the No.10 role, deemed more appropriate for this game. Also, Diaz has only just returned from Covid-19 and it’s clear that his form has been affected.

It remains to be seen if we will see Diaz on the right this evening, but it would certainly be an interesting solution. As said, Saelemaekers has been subpar lately and benching him would indeed make sense.
