Reports: Pioli will rest duo in Milan’s clash against Venezia – the replacements

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will take on Venezia in the fifth round of Serie A tomorrow evening, looking to continue their unbeaten run. Understandably so, Stefano Pioli is expected to rest some of the starters.

The Rossoneri are struggling with quite a few absences so they don’t have a lot of depth, but just enough to make a few changes to the XI. The first one will be in defence as Matteo Gabbia is set to start in place of Fikayo Tomroi, as per Sky (via MilanNews).

It has previously been reported that Ismael Bennacer is expected to start alongside Sandro Tonali as well, rather than Franck Kessie. Further up the pitch, as reported by MilanNews, Alessandro Florenzi should replace Alexis Saelemaekers.

Two players will be rested, therefore, while Kessie’s exclusion is linked more to his recent performances that haven’t been as good. You can take a look at the full XI below.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Gabbia, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Florenzi, Diaz, Leao; Rebic.

  1. Theo Hernandez should rest as well after last 2 games.. Touré or even a few min i want to see Milos Kerkez perform. He did well in that friendly against Pro Sesto scoring 2 goals in the last 2 min.
