Sky: Pobega now expected to start against Fiorentina – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

Rade Krunic will not start for AC Milan tomorrow night against Fiorentina as Stefano Pioli will make a change to the originally planned midfield, according to a report.

According to Sky (via Calciomercato.com), Pioli is expected to give Krunic a rest when Fiorentina come to the San Siro, who will then return to the starting line-up on Tuesday in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.

Against La Viola, the midfield three should be formed of Yunus Musah – who will serve a suspension against Dortmund – plus Tijjani Reijnders and Tommaso Pobega, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek will start from the bench.

What remains to be seen is which of those three players will start as the deeper-lying midfielder in front of the defence, given all are natural box-to-box profiles. What Pioli could do is revert to a double pivot of Musah-Reijnders, with Pobega ahead as an attacking midfielder, like Loftus-Cheek did against PSG.

  1. What exactly did Adli do to be tied for a bench again? Krunić made more mistakes since he came back ,way more mistakes than Adli while he was playing.

  2. Unbelievable how Adli has gone back to not existing any more in Pioli’s eyes. He for sure is a better option than Pobega. I don’t understand this coach. It’s almost as if he wants to get sacked.

  3. If not because of pioli adli is among the best players in Milan. In France they thought he will be starting player but this pioli bench him without giving him chance for 3years
