Sky: Probable Milan XI to face Atalanta – Kjaer and Tonali set to return

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is set to make some alternations to his starting line-up for the game against Atalanta compared to the one that faced Atletico Madrid.

According to what Peppe Di Stefano has told Sky (via MilanNews), Mike Maignan should be in goal while Simon Kjaer is all set to return to his position as Fikayo Tomori’s partner, with Alessio Romagnoli ready for a rest.

In midfield three players are competing for two places, with Franck Kessie and Sandro Tonali the favourites to start from the beginning as things stand.

Alexis Saelemaekers should be on the right wing, with Brahim Diaz the playmaker and Rafael Leao on the left wing, and Ante Rebic the centre-forward once again, with Oliver Giroud ready to take over from the bench as he is not yet at 100%.

AC Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo; Tonali, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Rebic.

  1. Really going to risk Kjaer coming off of an injury when you have the international window coming up to give him more rest potentially? I’d rather see Tomori/Romagnoli get the nod and let’s get healthy through the window coming out with must win games against Porto (home/away) and at least secure 3rd spot in the group to qualify for Europa.

    1. Tony, if we beat Porto home and away and Liverpool takes four pts from their games with Atletico we will meet Atletico in Madrid on 6 points and them on 5. If we win that match we will qualify for the round of 16 regardless of what happens on the last day against Liverpool. I believe in it!

  2. @vero that’s the spirit we’re Ac Milan we can’t settle for less. Ever since I’ve been a Milan fan, Milan have never drop out from group stage. So everyone calm down and let’s support our beloved club. Forza Milan. Milan all the way to round of 16 I believe.
