Sky: Probable Milan XI to face Empoli – Pobega, Rebic and Thiaw could start

By Oliver Fisher -

There are a couple of late line-up doubts ahead of AC Milan’s home match against Empoli on Friday night, as Rafael Leao could be rested.

Peppe Di Stefano spoke live on Sky (via MilanNews) and he gave some updates on the probable line-up for tomorrow’s match against Empoli, starting with the defensive department in front of Mike Maignan which should consist of Davide Calabria, Malick Thiaw – who should be preferred to Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez.

Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer should remain as the midfield double pivot with Alexis Saelemaekers expected to play on the right instead of Brahim Diaz, while today Tommaso Pobega was tried as the attacking midfielder and not Rade Krunic.

On the left there is a doubt too as Rafael Leao trained separately yesterday, and while he worked with the rest of the group Pioli does not want to take any risks and therefore if he is not 100% tomorrow he will not start.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Pobega (Krunic), Leao (Rebic); Giroud.
