AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to make just one change to his starting line-up for the game against Inter compared to the team from the first three games of the season.
According to the latest from Sky, the only change will be at centre-back where Fikayo Tomori is suspended after getting sent off against Roma and Pierre Kalulu is injured, meaning Simon Kjaer should partner Malick Thiaw.
Mike Maignan will retain his place in goal with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez as the right-back and left-back completing the four-man defence.
Rade Krunic will be at the base of the three-man midfield with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders being the right and left mezzali respectively.
Christian Pulisic was the last back from international duty but will get the nod on the right wing, with Rafael Leao on the other side and Olivier Giroud expected to shake off an ankle issue and start.
Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.
Inter meanwhile will stick with the 3-5-2 that Simone Inzaghi has used constantly, and they will also field the same line-up from their first three games too.
Sommer will be in goal with Darmian, De Vrij and Bastoni the back three, Dumfries and Dimarco as wing-backs, Barella, Calhanoglu and Mkhitaryan as the three in midfield then Thuram and Lautaro up top.
Probable Inter XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Darmian, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro.
Let’s risk Pellegrino or simic. kjear should not be seen anywhere near the team. His career already retired long ago yet he is still playing.
Really? He is still starting for his national team. He also pocketed Harry Kane in the Champions League last season. Milan also gave up fewer goals when Kjaer started last season than when he did not. He is a better CB than Kalulu is. Kalulu is a RB. He had 6 good games at CB 2 years ago, that’s it. Why risk Pellegrino or Simic when Kjaer is reliable.
Kjaer has lost a couple of steps since that injury two seasons ago, and I don’t think he’s 100% match fit either, BUT he’s the better option over Simic and Pellegrino due to sheer experience. I do think we’ll see one of Simic or Pellegrino come in for Kjaer in the final 10-15 min due to the aforementioned match fitness. The worst thing that could happen in this match is an early injury to Thiaw or Kjaer.
Clown 🤡
C’mon what’s with this anti-kjear campaign?
@Obimilan fans likes “exciting” players.. New and young players are in this category
What about Caldara?? Is he eligible to play for Milan???
la 1ère défaite de la saison face à l’Inter de Milan
Its a 50/50 game. My opinion . ForzaMilan from Nigeria
It’s a winning for us Forza Milan
The team is definitely better than last season, however a few additions will cement the good job.
1. A calm and combative CB.
2. A combative DM – I still believe in Amrabat though.
3. A skillful RB – Someone like maybe Noussair Mazraoui.
4. A younger CF – maybe Sebastien Haller would be perfect.
CDK’s transfer fee should be enough to get Sebastien Haller. The other targets can be funded by the transfer budget.
