Sky: ‘Problems’ persist in ‘game of chess’ regarding Calhanoglu and Donnarumma’s renewals

By Oliver Fisher -

There is still not much to report regarding the progress of two renewals, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is close to signing.

Peppe Di Stefano spoke to Sky Italia from Casa Milan (via MilanNews) and reported that neither Maldini nor Massara were at training this afternoon. Raiola has recently left Turin, and it is plausible that he could be in Milan or could be travelling to the city.

Ibrahimovic’s new deal is basically all agreed, while there are more ‘problems’ for Calhanoglu and Donnarumma. Milan absolutely do not want to let go of Donnarumma and it is described as a ‘game of chess’.

Luca Marchetti then spoke on the matter and added that while Mino Raiola can ask for €15m net per season for Donnarumma there is no team that is ready to offer contracts at these figures to the 22-year-old. There would have to be a goalkeeping carousel among the top clubs, and it is unlikely to start.

  1. Milan should let go of Donnarumma and Calhanoglu if they are not able to find agreement and should take a lesson that this fiasco is not repeated in future
