Both Ante Rebic and Andrea Conti have changed their shirt numbers for the 2020-21 season, according to a report.
According to what is being reported by Peppe Di Stefano for Sky Italia (via MilanNews), both Rebic and Conti have changed their jersey numbers for next season.
The Croatian goes from wearing number 18 to 12, while the Italian full-back has moved from 12 to 14.
There is clearly no element of superstition felt by Rebic, who has chosen to change his shirt number despite having finished as the club’s top scorer during the 2019-20 season.
What is perhaps surprising is that he has changed to a number that he has never occupied before. For the Croatian national team – as well as at previous club Eintracht Frankfurt – he wears number four.
The same goes for Conti, who has never worn 14. At Atalanta he was No.24 before adopting 12 at Milan, but it will perhaps be indicative of a fresh start.
