Sky: Rebic prepares to start up front against Lecce amid Giroud’s injury

By Isak Möller -

Olivier Giroud is still struggling with pain his in calf and will thus miss out on the game between AC Milan and Lecce tomorrow evening. Ante Rebic will be the one start up front instead, a report claims.

Giroud was able to power through in the 1-1 return leg at Stadio Maradona but will not be available tomorrow. He’s experienced pain in his calf tendon and it remains to be seen what the recovery times will be.

This was all confirmed by Stefano Pioli during his press conference, which you can read here, and Sky Italia (via SempreMilan.it) now reports that Ante Rebiuc will be the replacement. And the Croatian sure could use a goal.

Rebic only has three goals for Milan this season and two of them came on the opening day. In other words, he has struggled to impose himself this campaign and Pioli will be hoping that he can turn the page tomorrow.

  1. He’s rusty, low on confidence, and physically fallen off but I have a feeling he’ll score tomorrow because he always works hard, and surrounded by the starters, he should get several opportunities

  2. regardless if he scores tomorrow is one thing as long as other players scores but having rebic up in gear could be of great value to both of our strives in serie a and cl so im all for it. Still think we should consider selling him at the end of the season as he hasnt been the same player he were two years ago.

  3. I am very concerned about the injury to Olivier Giroud. We need you to be back soon ..
We can win the champions league but will need your services, please recover ..
