Sky: Reijnders impressing everyone at Milanello and the latest on Chukwueze

Tijjani Reijnders looked very good in the pre-season friendlies and the midfielder should play from start in the opener against Bologna on Monday. Samuel Chukwueze, meanwhile, isn’t in top physical condition yet.

Reijnders was signed for €20m plus bonuses from AZ Alkmaar one month ago and thus took part in the pre-season tour in the US. He impressed Stefano Pioli there and has continued to do so at Milanello.

As stated by Peppe Di Stefano of Sky Italia, via Francesco Nasato, Reijnders has ‘impressed everyone’ at Milanello with his qualities. The journalist also provided an update on Chukwueze, stating that the Nigerian has 30-35 minutes in his legs.

Christian Pulisic will play from the first minute on the right flank, having been with the team for a lot longer, and it will be an interesting competition between the two throughout the season. Of course, the American can also play in a few other positions.

    1. I remember people saying Inter is better than Milan earlier in the window because they signed freaking Thuram and Fratessi

      look at them now lmao

        1. “I think Inter is better because they havent done major changes unlike we did. ”

          Yeah, losing Onana, Dzeko, Brozovic and Lukaku is nothing… LOL 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

          1. those are subs and onana is not that important.
out of 10 field starters they lost 1 in a tandem (dzeko & lukaku), both been replaced.
Milan is out of 4 starters. It will show, you’ll see

      1. Signing less players doesn’t mean they’re worse. At least they have a reliable system. Logically speaking they’re ahead of us, at least for the first 10 matches or so.

Again again I’d say this, it’ll all go down to Pioli on how fast he can build a team (yes, team, not individuals). This time around, without influential figures like Maldini and Ibra. Do or die kind of season for his 5th year at Milan.

  1. He was a standout of preseason. Seems really professional and down to earth kind of lad. Hope he continues in the same fashion throughout the season.

  2. His frame is atypical. He looks top heavy and small lower back/waist. Hope he doesnt get back issues the way he’s built. With his height you’d think he would be as agile but he’s quite..

  3. We leave the double-pivots blueprint and go with fluid 3-men midfielders, and we had Reijnders combined with Loftus-Cheeks (RLC), and Bennacer (or Krunic) as Regista. It sounds good, but the friendly results are telling us completely the opposite.
Our defense become more vulnerable, left wings are weaker (Leao struggling to find spaces, Theo rarely marauding forward), Giroud played too quietly up front with little ball he got. Reijnders – RLC play entertaining football, but can’t penetrate well at final third.

I think we still long way from our optimal potential, with this 4-3-3. I hope Pioli can change it ASAP.

  4. Let us first see how they will perform at least in five games that’s when we can start judging the team for now it’s too early to tell.

  5. It a good start for my lovely milan 2-0 against Bologna there is room for improvement milan must continue like this there are toughest match to come.please let give the player more encouragement positive criticism will make milan stronger.all the best milan.milan for ever and ever.jimmy from.the seychelles island.
