As has been reported by Sky Sport Italia correspondent Peppe Di Stefano (via SempreMilan.it), the Dutch midfielder could get a chance to play a midfield role that he has not yet played for the Rossoneri.
He has so far been used as one of the two wider midfielders but with Rade Krunic set to miss the game through injury, Stefano Pioli needs a new player to be the deepest midfielder.
Many wondered if Adli would get the nod given it is known that Pioli is trying to turn him into that sort of player, but it seems more likely that Reijnders will play there with Ruben Loftus-Cheek on one side and then either Yunus Musah or Tommaso Pobega on the other side.
