By Oliver Fisher -

Alexis Saelemaekers has reached an agreement with Real Betis over personal terms but no deal between the clubs has been struck yet, a report claims.

Before reading the update below, it is worth checking out our latest Substack piece on Saelemaekers as well as Divock Origi and Charles De Ketelaere, which has some exclusive information on their respective situations.

Antonio Vitiello reported that the winter was not happy to not be making the trip with his team-mates to Reggio-Emilia. In fact, the journalist stated that he was ‘very hurt’ by being excluded entirely.

According to the latest from Sky (via MilanNews), Saelemaekers is leaving Milan and the exclusion for yesterday’s game seems to be the decisive sign.

He has an agreement with Real Betis over personal terms. The LaLiga could would like to set up a loan with option to buy deal but the Milan management are wanting a permanent deal.

Saelemaekers is pushing for a move to Andalusia and has therefore accepted the destination.

  1. It’s an odd case. He has the technique and flair, and tries hard. But something doesn’t quite click for him. Like, he’s got all the parameters, but the end product is just shy of world class. At 24 he’s got a few years left to put the puzzle together, but not at Milan with this kind of competition.

        1. That’s his problem – I like him though so probably would have kept to see if he can improve if there was room for him. Messias on the other hand is the finished product so no crying over his departure.

  2. This guy name will be louder than this elsewhere. Trust me. But milan will be ask to pay double in the future trust me. Best position for him is attacking midfielder or free row. But pioli couldn’t discover this. I cam bet you this guy will not spend 3 years in any small club b4 moving to a bigger club. If you put in attacking midfielder.

    1. So you think he got vision passing and scoring ability to be AMF. He could Calhanoglu replacement? Salad used to be Castilejo replacement back then.

  3. Considering his age and flashes of potential player he could’ve been(and still can) agreeing a sum less then 10mil would be criminal. Around 13mil i think that it is the best spot. Especially cause he can still be useful in RB spot for us, but we all know that Pioli isnt that advanced to see him play in that position

  4. Let him go on loan somewhere where he can be a starter at RWB. He’ll do great. Right now no club is paying what he’s worth.

  5. Loan him out dry where he can get starting spot. Sell or keep after that. Though I do understand we need the monies now to reinvest in St, Lb and DCM and time is running out.
