AC Milan are showing less interest in signing Youssouf Fofana after struggling to strike a deal with AS Monaco and Manchester United are now in the frame.
As reported by Sky Sports in the United Kingdom, Man Utd could be about to sign another original Milan target having already signed Joshua Zirkzee after Milan hit a stumbling block over the agent’s commission.
Milan are very keen on adding a more defensively-minded midfielder of high quality to the squad and Fofana has been very keen on the move, but Monaco have been demanding a high fee for the Frenchman who has one year left on his contract.
Milan are starting to look at other options, and that has come at the same time that Man Utd cooled their interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Man Utd have an open dialogue with Monaco and as was shown by the Zirkzee situation, Man Utd have more spending power than Milan when it comes to transfer fees and agent’s commissions which means the deal could get over the line.
Milan are focused on signing a midfielder and another attacker, with other positions such as right-back taking on less importance as the summer window progresses.
If we’re not already in discussions with alternatives in case of this, then the club aren’t doing their job.
Even before that though – who misses out on squad registration if we do sign a new player? Assuming Adli is out already, is it Salamaekers?
fofana isnt even a real dm he is a box to box midfielser so his defensive attribute isnt that good
he can play in double pivot, no one is playing him in 4-3-3… why are people pushing for CDM? we just need Gatusso-esque defensive player, so Bennacer can have a breather and so can our CBs

They paid 80, and with a little amortization break-even is probably around 75. So, that’s still WAY to expensive for us. More likely that Napoli keeps him for another season and ADL tells Cunte to deal with it. I mean, what coach would get rid of Osimhen for Lukaku? Dodged a bullet with that one, didn’t we.

When has it ever been a 20M deal? You mean because Tuttosport, Calciomercato and MN make up a bunch of stories with random numbers in it each day, they guessed wrongly and now say “the asking price changed”? That’s not the same thing.

You know what, if they would opt for someone like Tessmann from Venezia which I suggested already a couple of times, I’d be ok with it. He’s cheap, young, talented and a DM who knows Serie A. But I guess they don’t look for a proper #6 but more for a defensive #8.
Speaking of Venezia, they picked up Alfred Duncan (acc to Transfermarkt ) who was my favourite DM for backup to whoever bigger signing for the position. Plus he’s homegrown so wouldn’t take up one of the 17 spots. And was FREE! and low salary. Smh 🤦♂️
