AC Milan have not yet announced the renewals of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara which has been described as a ‘curious’ situation.
Manuele Baiocchini spoke on Sky (via MilanNews) about the contractual situation of Maldini and Massara in this way and remarked that while it seems a ‘foregone conclusion’ that they will extend given the path they have taken the team on and the recent Scudetto win, there is now two weeks until their deal expires.
The fact the extensions of Maldini and Massara’s contracts have not been signed – despite the will of Gerry Cardinal who met Maldini – and that there were no other formal speeches to put pen to paper is ‘at least something curious’.
With the many operations that Milan must complete this summer to strengthen their squad, the fact that two director do not yet know if on July 1st if they will be able to continue working on the project is strange.
It will still ‘certainly happen’, but it ‘is curious that the contracts have not yet been renewed, at least looking at it from the outside’, the journalist concludes.
This is indeed curious, and irritating, as it apparently slows down the market operations.

Maldini probably won’t sign because he knows Redbird/Elliot won’t support the transfers/players he wants. NO way we are getting any players like CDK, Antony, Bremer, Botman, Zaniolo, etc….lol. This is fantasy. These owners have NO intention to pay these large sums of $$. Now reports of Sanches deal being far apart? LOL. What a joke. I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up with Dia/Krunic as our opening day CAM faith Adli getting a crack as well) and Politano for RW lol. Instead of Botman/Bremer it’s a player like Maia (Udinese) or they just keep Gabbia. Don’t hold your breath over Leao either. IF we want to keep him we either need to help him pay his 16m penalty or up his salary to offset the $ he owes to Sporting. But this I’m sure will not happen and he will have to look for another club who will help him pay this penalty or essentially he would be playing for us for the next 4 years for free. If this is the case M&M should go to a club who will support them. Imagine what they could do if they had a real transfer budget. Sad
