An interesting tactical point is the reason why Lucas Paqueta and Franck Kessie have swapped sides in the midfield, a report claims.
Rossoneri head coach Stefano Pioli raised a few eyebrows with his decision to switch the left-footed Paqueta to the right central midfield position and move the right-footed Kessie to the left.
According to Sky Italia though (via Football Italia) there is in fact method behind the decision. The outlet claims that when Milan are going forward, they will defend with three players at the back, thus allowing Theo Hernandez to push up the pitch.
As a result, the more physical Kessie is needed to help protect the left side of the defence and ensure that Milan are not caught out on the break.
Pioli will use a 4-3-3 formation and bench Krzysztof Piatek, with Suso, Rafael Leao and Hakan Calhanoglu as the starting front three.
