Sky: Third name emerges as potential addition to Morata – the details

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan still hope to sign Alvaro Morata to be the new striker this summer but another new name has been linked with the position.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia (via Milan News), Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is a viable option and is now on the list of names that also contains Borussia Dortmund’s Niclas Fullkrug and AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham.

Milan are scrabbling to ensure they find Olivier Giroud’s replacement, with many of the early linked names having now committed their futures elsewhere. Sunday saw Manchester United announce the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna after extensive efforts from Milan to sign him.

The Memphis Depay track appears to have gone completely cold now, but Fullkrug and Abraham are have potential.

Duran is a 2003-born Colombian striker who is also being seriously pursued by West Ham United in the Premier League.

The Colombian National Team player made 23 Premier League appearances last season under Unai Emery. He also played across the Europa Conference League, the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, eventually ending the season with eight goals from 37 appearances.

Given his age, he may be an ideal striker to learn alongside Morata and eventually become the main man himself.

  1. Good talent but still raw. I think Aston Villa paid 20m pounds for him. We wont pay that. If we want a raw talent we should keep Colombo or Maldini. Much rather go for Jonathan David or Tammy Abraham or if we really want a statement signing Alvarez is the one.
