Sky: Three Milan players were granted rest but trained anyway

By Euan Burns -

Three AC Milan players were granted a day of rest but decided to arrive at training on Tuesday at Milanello anyway.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia (via Milan News), the trio of players in question, who have not been named by reporters, would not have been in trouble had they not shown up to training at all today.

Despite that, they opted to take part and continue getting in the best possible shape for the rest of the season, showing an impressive level of commitment.

The team has been preparing for the Serie A match against Lazio which takes place this Friday evening at the Stadio Olimpico.

There is still a chance that the Rossoneri can finish second in Serie A which would be a good achievement considering how bad things got in December, and they are into the last 16 of the Europa League.

Pioli’s side will be the favourites to make it into the quarter-finals, too, as they have been drawn to face Slavia Praha in the next round. There are no easy ties at this stage of the Europa League, but there were tougher opponents on the table.

Pioli is doing all he can to find the best midfield combination for the rest of the season.

    1. The fact that you think there should be a best midfield is mind boggling. In between injuries, the fact that more than half of the midfield are new signings and the fluid nature of the team; no untouchable in the midfield. And that makes sense.

  1. There is a reason they would have been given rest. Turning up amounts to disrespecting the manager decisions. Its not as bravado a choice as many will think.
