‘I’m thinking of Sesko’ – Sky journalist gives update on Fonseca and Milan’s striker chase

Another update has arrived from Sky regarding AC Milan’s plans for the future, including when Paulo Fonseca’s arrival should be made official and the pursuit of a striker,

It has been quite a tiring last couple of months, at least with regards to the sheer amount of speculation about Stefano Pioli’s position as the head coach and who his successor might be, all while the team struggled on the field.

However, it seems the management are now set on Fonseca after an extensive evaluation process, and they will look to confirm him as the next coach shortly. Then, attentions will turn to giving him a squad that is capable of challenging Inter for the league title.

Speaking live on Sky, Alessandro Sugoni gave a couple of updates on Milan during what is a bit of a quieter period after the trip to Australia concluded, and his comments were transcribed by Radio Rossonera.

“We are in the countdown [for Fonseca], all that’s missing is the signature. He could be made official in the week ahead, then the construction of the team will really begin,” he said.

“Even if Jovic remains, Milan will need a number 9. The names doing the rounds are those that are of interest to the club, but they have very different costs and situations.

“I’m thinking of Sesko, who costs a lot, but I’m also thinking of Guirassy who has a 17 million euro clause. We are not ruling out other names, but in any case Milan will definitely sign a striker.”
