AC Milan are hoping to close the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach within 48 hours, according to a report.
Igli Tare was officially confirmed as Milan’s new sporting director on Monday and he has sprung into action. The choice of the head coach to replace Sergio Conceicao is definitely the main task on his agenda, with so many names already linked in recent days.
Widespread reports from multiple sources on Wednesday afternoon presented two developments. The first is that Vincenzo Italiano has agreed to stay with Bologna and thus will soon extend his deal, and the second is that the Rossoneri are accelerating for Allegri as a result.
Sky correspondent Peppe Di Stefano spoke from outside Casa Milan this afternoon to give the latest on the pursuit of a new head coach. MilanNews relayed his comments.
“Last night we went to bed with the idea that Italiano was the main candidate for the Milan bench and that was probably the case. This morning the meeting in Bologna between the coach’s agents and the club led to the verge of a renewal,” he said.
“So Massimiliano Allegri, but there we play and work on time: Milan must and want to try to close the deal within two days. Will they do it? That will depend on the offers they make and how convincing Milan’s proposal is.
“If he waits two days, it is clear that Napoli could come back into play if Conte were to leave; we do not know what will happen with the Inter bench after the Champions League final. The further ahead you go, the more of a risk it is for Milan.
“If they really have this objective, they must try to close it in a few hours at most. Every detail, at this moment, every phone call can simply make the difference. Milan cannot make the wrong choice and Allegri would mean playing it safe, he is a very experienced coach and would be the right glue after such a disastrous year.”
Italiano as your main target and Allegri as plan B is like going to a restaurant for pizza but in case they don’t have pizza you’ll get a lemon cake. Same sense of direction.
I mentioned it on another post earlier, I mean, rumours are rumours.. But much of what’s coming out just doesn’t make sense. Italiano who is a high presser of a coach, then you have Max is playing Catenaccio. If that’s the case, then this management don’t have a clue where they going
Don’t believe everything you read. Italiano probably putting some rumours out to get a better extension with Bologna. Whenever there is a premature spike in rumours during negotiations that’s always a strong possibility.

This comment made me puke in my mouth. Allegri is the only coach that can bring continuity to the team. I also don’t know why everyone wants Italiano, he alright but bologna finished below milan. I know milans players cost more but if a team like milan playing like garbage could finish ahead of bologna, how good is Italiano, I don’t know?
Me too. This is sad news. I’d rather keep Conceicao, than bring back Allegri. It won’t last, just as his second stint at Juventus didn’t.

I remember mesbah, Kevin constant, taiwo, emmanuelson, antonini, and host of below par men signed for him. When his team peaked, he win Scudetto with us, lost the other because of muntari ghost goal. How did u expect him to play with rubbi*h players. Allegri has been to champs league finals, won league, Coppa, etc. What has de service, Motta or Italiano achieved that makes Milan fans go so excited. Choose between playing ugly to win, or gambling to see pain just like this season.

What u are virtually saying is that Conte, Ancelotti, Guardiola are all bad coaches cos they have talented players. Fonseca couldn’t manage even leao n Theo. Do u know how much it takes to coach superstars in a team. U think inter is inter because of the players only, no, it’s about a coach who is given materials to work with in continuity. Allegri was starved of this in his latter years. Then we got inzaghi, seedorf, oddo, montella, giampaolo. What happened is on the screen. Even with pioli, he had a well knit side for the Scudetto. Then 2nd afterwards in the league, n things fell apart. Allegri is better than those rookies
Conte did not have the most talented team this year, they sold their best player in January too. One could argue Milan actually had the more talented team.
And they still got knocked out the CL by f’cking Tottenham. Embarrassing coach

If you keep Laeo. You would have to have a coach like Allegri. Who will build a team from the back to the front. With Laeo, He just does not fit in with many of these new age coaches whose tactics revolve around the high press. However if Laeo was replaced I would choose a Motta or Italiano or any of the coaches who tactically like to press.
