SM: AC Milan accused of ‘deceiving’ fans by Italian consumer association

By Vito Angele -

Last season, AC Milan finished 5th in the Serie A just one point short of Champions League qualification. Of course, this guaranteed them a spot in the Europa League, but they were eventually excluded from the competition.

Back in June of last year, we were the first to report that CEO Ivan Gazidis was negotiating with UEFA to be excluded from the competition, thus limiting the possible sanctions linked to the failure to respect the FFP.

As learned by SempreMilan.com, however, Codacons – the association responsible for consumers in Italy – will file an official complaint in the coming hours. Due to the exclusion, Milan ‘deceived’ their own fans according to the association.

For now, there is no more information on the matter. Once the complaint has been made official, the club and the fans will know what it entails. It remains to be seen how Milan will respond to the accusations.
