Confirmations have arrived regarding the reports that emerged last night suggesting Bayern Munich are interested in a move for Pierre Kalulu.
The increasingly imminent sale of Benjamin Pavard to Inter is in fact forcing Thomas Tuchel’s team to look for a replacement and one of the main names on the list is Kalulu, as has been confirmed by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it.
However, considering his young age, his potential and the fact he still has a long contract with the Rossoneri, Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani would not be willing to let the Frenchman leave for less than €30m.
The Milan management do not intend to give any discounts for the former Lyon man, who arrived for just over €1m in 2020, especially given that there is not much time left before the window shuts to potentially sign a replacement.
Kalulu has started the first two games of the season on the bench, with Davide Calabria preferred at right-back and Malick Thiaw at right centre-back.

The issue with selling Kalulu isn’t the price but Milan needs to scramble in the last few days to find a replacement for him.
Going into the season with Kjaer and Pellegrino as a back up CBs and Calabria and Florenzi as only RB options on top of no Theo backup would be disastrous.
It’s a question of WHEN ,not IF, Calabria and Florenzi miss games because of injury, and Kjaer is cooked.
Unless they have someone line up to replace Kalulu, they should not sell him this late in the window.

Why would they sell Kalulu? He’s good, he’s young, he cam play multiple positions if needed. Not to mention he’s probably our best RB even tho Calabria is starting. Florenzi at this point is not a reliable backup at RB.

Not wise this late in the transfer window to sell Kalulu and replace him with a 19 yr old with zero experience and at a hefty 15M fee?? That’s crazy IMO. So our only experienced CB would be a 34-35yr old Kajer?? And we want to compete in CL? Ya sure. No way this should happen unless as @ACM1899 said above we swap him w Pavard and steal him from Inter – but even then Kalulu can play RB (and I don’t think Pavard can) and prob should be starting there as both Calabria and Florenzi are constantly injured and don’t provide much moving forward. Also why make a move that only strengthens Inter and weakens us in the short term??
