SM: Milan aiming to secure Betis midfielder in €10m cut-price deal

Due to Tommaso Pobega’s injury, as well as Rade Krunic’s imminent departure, AC Milan are set to bring in at least one midfielder in January. Guido Rodriguez has ended up on their wish list and could arrive in a cut-price deal.

Pobega sustained an injury in the game against Monza and will be out of action for four months, following surgery. Krunic is also expected to depart the club, having not featured in the last five games, and Milan thus need to reinforce the squad.

As highlighted by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Guido Rodriguez is one of the top names on Milan’s wish list for the midfield. The Real Betis man could arrive in a cut-price deal worth around €10m, seeing as his contract with the Spanish side will expire in the summer.

A majority of the deal, therefore, would be funded by the departure of Krunic. Both Fenerbahce and Lyon have expressed an interest in the latter, with Milan asking for €5-7m to part ways with the Bosnian next month.

It should also be noted that Ismael Bennacer is expected to take part in the AFCONs with Algeria, which will start in January. A midfield signing is thus almost a necessity for the Rossoneri.
