SM: Okafor sustains hamstring injury with Switzerland – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

There is simply no end to AC Milan’s injury crisis as Noah Okafor has become the latest player to suffer a muscle injury and he faces weeks out.

As we have learned, Okafor suffered a thigh injury during Switzerland’s recent game against Romania and the MRI scan carried out yesterday upon his return to Milanello highlighted a lesion to the right hamstring.

The player will be re-evaluated with new tests in a week, but given the nature of the injury we can safely presume he will be out for the best part of a month and therefore will miss some crucial upcoming fixtures.

It is more bad news for Stefano Pioli, who already has to do without Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud for the game against Fiorentina. Now, it seems obvious that Luka Jovic will get the nod to start up front on Saturday against his former side, and probably the following weekend versus Frosinone.

  1. That is a really huge blow.
Both for the team and for him.
This was a great opportunity for him to stake a claim to be a starter.
We are really f*cked now in attack

  2. Feels like injuries are more and more frequent nowadays than 5 years ago 4 example. And not just at Milan.

Gotta start making contacts that will lower pay for players when they are unavailable to play. It’s just plain logical imao.

  3. Pioli showed he doesnt trust this guy,he gave him minimum playing time when he was healthy,so it should not be a problem for our genious coach to figure out some solution.

  4. Goodbye 2nd round of UCL then. Would have been important but it is how it is. Zero chance of getting at least 4 points from the last two now. 🙁
