SM: Pioli hands Milan two days rest after Lecce victory

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has decided to hand the playing squad two days of rest following the match against Lecce to recover from a busy schedule, a report claims.

As has been reported by SempreMilan.it, the coach has taken the unusual step of giving two full days of rest after a match.

This is almost certainly linked to the fact that, with Champions League commitments as well, the playing squad has been extremely busy for a long time.

Had Milan lost against Lecce on Sunday, he may have called them into training to get to the bottom of the loss. A 2-0 win means that the players have two free days.

There were no training sessions at Milanello on Monday and it will be the same on Tuesday, before they then meet again for training at Carnago sports centre on Wednesday to begin preparations to face AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
