SM: Playmaker could arrive from France as Moncada evaluates options

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are expected to resume the negotiations with Daichi Kamada but it’s possible that yet another playmaker will be needed this summer. Therefore, the Rossoneri could turn to France.

Geoffrey Moncada, Milan’s chief scout and now one of the key figures on the mercato, has always believed that the best talent can be found in France. Pierre Kalulu is one of the players he suggested and many good deals can be found in the country.

As highlighted by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, the arrival of Kamada might not be enough seeing as both Yacine Adli and Charles De Ketelaere (loan or permanently) could leave this summer. In that case, Moncada would likely turn to France.

Real Madrid also announced the return of Brahim Diaz earlier today, and thus two playmakers could indeed be needed this summer. It remains to be seen what Moncada will come up with, though it’s certain that he has many names on his list.

  1. I don’t care where they’re from as long as they’re good. Anyway one thing I hope we can all agree on tonight is – Go City 🙌

    1. “Anyway one thing I hope we can all agree on tonight is – Go City 🙌”

Why on Earth would a Milan-fan support Inter? Haaland!!! Go City!!!

          1. LOL. Didn’t see actual tears but I did enjoy what I saw. One thing bothered me though… They didn’t show the biggest crybaby of them all after the final whistle. But I guess Crybaby-Barella was in the dressing room (or next to the referee as always) crying his eyes out.

Inter losing the final felt almost as good as Milan winning the scudetto. Perfect ending for the season, I tell you. Perfect! 🙂

  2. If is ac milan still italian club
We could probably get someone from smaller italian clubs like empoli, salernitana etc.
Or Moncada and big Mac Gary should register ac milan to play in france liga.

    1. There’s a reason we went for foreign (non-Italian) players:

-Their salary is subject to growth decree = less taxes
-They usually have a much better sell-on values, as compared to Italians
-Italians who are actually good are usually overpriced by their respective clubs. Harder to find a ‘steal’.

      1. Maybe true, however if ac milan is considered to be italian club I would like to see 7 to 8 starters from Italy
Back in 1995 Majority of them where italian
        Evening
        Donavon
        Costacurta
        Marco Simoni
        ETC

        1. Back then actually there’s a limitation on the foreigners that can be played in a match, and limit to the number or them in a club.

Today? None. Because it’s not in conjunction with free labor.

So basically we won’t ever see something like that time again.

          1. Sad, but true.
Maybe we all need to relocate to Nica and call ac milan / nica.
            Or let’s move to Nigeria.
            What do you think

          2. You could achieve a similar result by retracting transfers to 3 per club in the summer and 1 per club in winter which would force teams to use youth players of which the majority will be domestic.

I’m less concerned about the number of foreigners and more the amount player turnover. There are thousands of transfers across the clubs in the top 5 leagues (just 98 teams).

        2. It’s a different time so there’s no way we run 7 to 8 italians. But I agree I want to see milan with 4-5 starters since that was always such a huge part of our history. Feels we’re not even italian anymore…

          1. There really aren’t any good Italians right now – there is a reason Italy didn’t make it to the World Cup. You can’t compare Italy of years ago that won the World Cup to Italy now who lost to Macedonia in decisive game.

          2. Disagree entirely. They won euro cup, not much changed in the past 2 years. 1 missed penalty not missed and they would have been in the early cup. On top of that inter has been starting 5 italians all CL long. Sorry but this argument that there’s no good italians is crap.

        3. ” I would like to see 7 to 8 starters from Italy”

Sure. So would I. But the reality is that that team would cost a fortune as basically all Italians are waaaay overpriced.

Did you see how many British players ManCity – the best team in Europe – had in the starting line-up? Two. Just two! No team nowadays have more “own” players than foreigners on the pitch. At least if we’re talking about “bigger teams”.

          1. Where would Italian teams with youth players full of Italians possibly get Italian players?

We spent millions on Tonali when we could’ve had Cristante or Locatelli for free.

          2. Just to educate you bro,

Today 5pm is U20 world cup final game and gues what it is no Nigeria, Francia or Argentina

            It is Italia vs Uruguay

          3. “Just to educate you bro,

Today 5pm is U20 world cup final game and gues what it is no Nigeria, Francia or Argentina

            It is Italia vs Uruguay”

I knew that already and that has nothing to do with my comments here.

      2. I disagree respectfully with that

We let go De Sciglio , Belannova, Locatelli,
        Cristante, Verdi, Romagnoll
        Is Kalulllluu and Salemaket better.
I like Krunic , hard working Bosnian
        Ibrahim is legend
I would sign more Croatian and Serbian like Jovic, Orsic, ..

  3. Mf screw us big time…now we have neither we have charm of maldini or nor money…this bloody suckeres don’t wanna spend money ..

    1. I never miss a pass in a competitive match. No one get pass me in a competitive match. I never miss a tackle in a competitive match.

We will be great signings. 😁😁😁

  4. Locatelli
    Cristante
    Cutrone
    Petagna
    Acerbi
    Saponara

They can’t play in milan only for one reason
All of them born in Italy.
    Why always french players
    Goodbye milan
Born and raised die hard fan

    Good Buy big Mac Garry

    1. Stop moaning. We should sign and start players just because they are Italians?

Again, go and support Bari or Pisa and stop moaning

      1. inter was born due to schism in AC Milan as some segment want more foreign players involvement. That segment create inter milan, hence why they are internazionale.

    2. Here’s a starting 11 of players that cost us ZERO or close to:

      Donnarumma
      Bellanova
      Darmian
      Gabbia
      De Sciglio
      Cristante
      Locatelli
      Pessina
      Verdi
      Cutrone
      Petagna

Of those only Cutrone is playing in Serie B and in my unprovable opinion had the club backed him he wouldn’t have experienced his decline.

His is a typical story of a player who is abandoned by their parent club and is then turned into a journeyman changing clubs every few years.

The number one reason these players didn’t make it is because the club could not stop signing players many of whom we didn’t need or were of a lower standard to the ones we already had.

      1. I am shocked by fact that we are not looking to bring back Patrick Cutrone, die hard ac milan child.
        Verdi was very talented, Locatelli
Cristante we sold for 5m to Benfica
I am totally disappointed with new owners and management
I am okay with international players but they have to be really star like
        Savicevic
        Shevchenko
        Wear
        Van Basten
        Gullet
        Etc
        But we had Rivera
        Cesare Maldini
        Italian players.

  5. Disagree entirely. They won euro cup, not much changed in the past 2 years. 1 missed penalty not missed and they would have been in the early cup. On top of that inter has been starting 5 italians all CL long. Sorry but this argument that there’s no good italians is crap..

  6. No… We just need 1 new AMC to replace Brahim Diaz, and Daichi Kamada is perfect. CDK is deserved another chance next season. At last Serie-A match, CDK showed quality. He just didn’t seem confident, and have many doubt, just like Rafael Leao in his early year at ACM.

And for pivot : Bennacer, Tonali still the best option. Pobega is very good cover, and i think Yacine Adli should be the cover for pivot. He can play deeper, like he has done at Bordeaux. So just find a good RW, if want to stay with 4-2-3-1.

But i hope we change to 4-3-1-2. So we don’t need wingers, and we already have a bunch number of forwards.
I think Rafael Leao is already perfect to be the most advanced forward, received the most through balls from mid, just like Thierry Henry’s job at Arsenal.

    1. What is it with you and Nigeria? 🤣
Have you been to Nigeria before?
You always mention Nigeria in your comments. Would you like to visit?

  7. I have followed and loved AC Milan since 2000 and I really miss the days when we had Italians in midfield and defense.
Milan doesnt spend big on transfers but have an eye for spotting young, formidable talents like sheva.
If you ask me, I’d prefer AC Milan to have mostly Italian goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders because Italians are very good in these departments but again we have magic Mike and Theo who are both sensational.
In all, add more Italians to the team please.
And I do hope we get chukwueze for the right wing.
