SM: Thiaw undergoes MRI scan on hamstring injury – the result

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw underwent a scan on his hamstring this morning which has confirmed fears regarding a rather serious muscle issue.

It was in the 51st minute of last night’s defeat against Dortmund that Thiaw felt a sharp pain in his hamstring after chasing his man to the byline, but he limped off the field by himself which did evoke some hopes the damage wasn’t too bad.

However, the German defender was spotted exiting San Siro on crutches which made it obvious that the problem he had sustained was not a simple one, with various sources reporting his 2023 is likely to be over.

As we have learned, Thiaw underwent MRI test this morning which showed a severe lesion in his right thigh muscle. The evolution of his condition will be evaluated once again within 7-10 days, but from this we can deduce that he faces a few weeks out at the very least.
