SM: Why Ballo-Toure’s situation is complicated and he could remain until January

The Fode Ballo-Toure situation has become complicated for AC Milan and there is now a risk that he ends up staying until at least January.

Ballo-Toure has been linked with a number of different clubs in the summer window thus far, with the likes of Fulham, Bologna and Werder Bremen all reported to have come forward and shown interest in the left-back.

According to what is being reported by our colleague Luca Maninetti of SempreMilan.it, the Ballo-Toure situation is ‘complicated’ and it remains the same as before.

The player wants to stay in Italy or return to France, which is why he is refusing several offers such as the ones that have come in from England and Germany.

Bologna seem to be out of the running to land him because Milan want a permanent solution and thus would only accept a loan with obligation to buy and not an option.

The risk of Ballo-Toure staying until January is now high as a result, and it is likely that he will continue to be excluded by Stefano Pioli.

  1. If balo stays, kalulu could be sold for 30m and bartesaghi could replace him. Pure capital gain, perhaps we could sign quality RB or DMF at the end of mercato 😀

    1. Selling Kalulu might be a mistake that would turn around to bite us, he’s young, has Serie A winning experience, knows our system and was vital in our Scudetto campaign. Not to mention he’s a french international and has a very high ceiling. To gamble on another player when you have someone like Kalulu who is versatile in a problem position would be insane, as the saying goes, you don’t throw out the baby with the bath water, it would be like Manchester United selling Marcus Rashford after he had one off season.

      1. The worse thing about selling Kalulu to Bayern München is that it enables them to sell Pavard to Inter. So we are potentially weakening our team while at the same time strengthening our opponent.

    1. He’s just like origi, wants to prove him self although they are not part of the plan. Or maybe pioli will open his mind and accept them back with big heart 😀

      1. I think he and Origi think of themselves more than the teams actually think of them. They’re probably expecting good offers but none of the teams/leagues they wanted made an offer for them and now they find themselves in a situation of either accepting an offer they didn’t like or stay at Milan a face the risk of not playing.
They probably choose the later hoping that they can somehow play some games here and there and go elsewhere in january/june.
        That’s my take anyways
