AC Milan’s financial resurgence continues and yesterday’s approved 2023-24 accounts highlighted further positive trends for the club.
As Il Sole 24 Ore (via MilanNews) recall, the accounts for last season were approved last season and the results for the Rossoneri are once again excellent, in perfect continuation of the last few years since the Chinese ownership.
The economic newspaper has the headline: ‘AC Milan are healthy, second year of profits and historic record revenues’. The subtitle provides some additional numerical information: ‘In the 2023/2024 season, the Rossoneri have earned 457 million, up 13%, investing over 100 million in the market in two years’.
For Milan, this is the second consecutive profitable set of accounts published. The figure of €457m in revenues with which the balance sheet closed represents a historic record for the club, and proves that the work done commercially is beginning to bear fruit.
There is a debate raging at the moment regarding Milan’s ambitions and whether the financial improvement has been congruent with an intention to raise the level of the squad.
We broke down the key numbers in a recent feature including what has changed with the squad costs, the wage bill, the salary the coach earns and the spending per player.
It is not only the work done commercially. It’s also the resurgence over the past years with a competitive team and good results. Sponsors wouldn’t spend the same if Milan was not in UCL. Same for the fans.
True that.
Elliott laid a solid foundation and the pitch results were huge in terms of attracting sponsors and being able to charge more for those rights.
I don’t remember anyone complaining about their tenure, despite tight budgets
This latest crowd are a bunch of Johnny come lately’s
Are you serious! How you don’t you remember ppl complaining about Elliot’s tenure? Shiva among others wouldn’t stfu about them being vultures and how they were ruining everything with their tight budgets and the “Americanization” of the club. You must be kidding 🤣🤣🤣
Man, what a short memory you have 😂
Just kidding, but no matter the era there will always be someone that complained about something.
Why are Madrid no 1 in revenue?
Because they win and win and win.
They also splash big cash on the mercato
And please don’t reference their last 10 year spend because anyone with a brain understands the problem with those stats
They also exist in a League system set up to give them every advantage possible…
Haven’t seen the files online but I’d be interested in seeing how some of the lines shake out particularly consulting fees and Gerry’s recent talk on intellectual property. While the latter is zero in our books from what I can recall, I really wanna see if he has a plan to increase it if at all. Otherwise why go into such lengths to talk about it. Also consultant fees has been going up by alot in recent years. I’d like to know who exactly we are paying so much for consulting and what’s the results to show for. Sure, revenues have been increasing yes but if cost of production go in lock step with the increase (1:1) then is that really worth the effort (another thing Gerry says would like to have a low cost of prod relative to revs). Take away the recent increases in consultancy fees and we’d have a higher profit by about 10-20m more. And I get we need to spend money to make money but 1:1 shouldn’t cut it.
Well good luck with getting that kind of details. Become a major shareholder in Redbird and you might have luck. This is not a public company that is required to publish too many details and btw even if it was, no important data is shared even with the shareholders in my experience. Consulting fees will just start piling up with the stadium project progression, so there’s hardly surprise on that and there’s absolutely no reason to anticipate correlation with revenues.
