Man Utd boss Solskjaer comments on future of Milan-linked defender: “It may be too early”

By Oliver Fisher -

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested it is too early to sanction a potential exit for AC Milan target Diogo Dalot.

One of the main rumours doing the rounds at the moment is that Milan want to re-sign Dalot from United after his loan spell last summer. The Portuguese full-back represents a profile would could alternate with the usual starter Davide Calabria, and it is possible that an option to buy could be inserted as part of a new loan deal.

According to MilanLive, Milan want to give themselves the opportunity to buy Dalot next season and have offered a loan with option formula, but the Red Devils have not opened to this solution yet, preferring a sale outright or a loan with obligation.

The parties are at work, and in the meantime Dalot took part in a friendly against Brentford at Old Trafford and left positive impressions on Solskjaer.

“It may be too early to assess Dalot and Van de Beek, maybe we need one or two secondary appearances. We can probably line up Diogo and Donny from the start against Preston on Saturday, as I said before the game, so let’s see how the other guys who came back on Friday night feel,” he said.
