Source claims Milan are a ‘serious track’ for €25m-rated Club Brugge sensation

AC Milan are one of three clubs interested in Club Brugge star Krépin Diatta, according to a report.

A report on Seneweb cites APS who have apparently contacted the entourage of the player, who confirmed that there is a great deal of interest in Diatta from across Europe, including from Watford and Hertha Berlin.

“It is good for him to enrich his prize list with two national titles in Belgium, and that gives him a certain market value,” said the source, who requested anonymity.

“Regarding Watford, the first thing is non-relegation from the Premier League, we await the end of the football season to see more clearly.

“He will go to a club where the conditions for his development will be met. Each season he has to reach a milestone in his professional career.

“AC Milan is also a serious track, but in any case, the interests of the young footballer will be preserved,” he concluded.

The Rossoneri’s owners Elliott Management have thus far deployed a recruitment strategy focused on buying young players with high potential and developing them in order to record capital gains on the balance sheet.

Diatta is a 21-year-old who predominantly plays on the left wing but can also play on the right, and he has eight goals plus four assists in 34 appearances for the Belgian side across all competitions prior to the season being cancelled due to the COVID-19 emergency.

He also has one goal in 13 appearances for the Senegal national team, and as per a recent report from France Brugge are looking for €25m.
