Milan Futuro clinched three crucial points in their game against SPAL this afternoon, above all thanks to the new signings. Although the standings remain complicated, salvation is now at least within the Rossoneri’s sights.
After the draws against Sestri Levante and Rimini, Daniele Bonere and his players headed into the game with some confidence. Of course, winning has been the real problem this season and that was the goal for today’s clash.
Andrea Magrassi, who was signed at the beginning of the month, opened the scoring in the 43rd minute with a very good header on a cross by Leonardo D’Alessio. As one of the overage players (31 years), it’s nice to see the experienced striker leading the way for Bonera’s side.

Unfortunately, just three minutes into the second half, Mirko Antenucci – who was with SPAL during their time in Serie A – found the back of the net. He had just come off the bench as well, and nearly made it 2-1 with an effort in the 59th minute.
Instead, however, the new signing Ettore Quirini restored the lead with a nice header on a free-kick from Mattia Sandri. The right-back was announced just last week so you can definitely talk about instant impact here.

As opposed to previous games this season, Bonera’s side were able to defend the lead and see out the game. After two consecutive draws in the league, therefore, they finally secured three important points in the pursuit of avoiding relegation.
They are still in the final relegation spot, but salvation is now just one point away. Hopefully, the team can keep this up with the help of the new signings.
Lets see some consistency. While the win is good, I still don’t think Bonera is the right guy for the job.
bring back Abate for Futuro
Abate is coaching Ternana which is doing a lot better in Serie C.
