Spalletti says Juve are ‘right’ to ‘think about’ leapfrogging Milan in the table

Luciano Spalletti has restored some order at Juventus and now believes that they could leapfrog AC Milan in the standings, currently just three points behind.

After Milan’s big defeat against Udinese last night (0-3), which kicked off at 18:00, Juventus faced Atalanta away from home in the late slot. One goal in the second half by Jeremie Boga was enough to seal the three points for the Bianconeri, who moved within three points of the Rossoneri.

During his post-match presser, as transcribed by MilanNews, the Juve gaffer Luciano Spalletti was asked about the top-four race and specifically if they can leapfrog. He seemed confident about the matter, stating that it’s only right to believe in it.

Can Juve leapfrog Milan?

“It’s only right to think about it. However, we have some very difficult matches ahead of us. For example, we have Bologna, who have certainly rediscovered their enthusiasm.

“We have to focus on playing our game. Unfortunately, Juve have dropped too many points this season, and we need to recover them in this final push,” he stated.

The two teams will face each other in a direct clash in just two weeks, which undoubtedly will decide a lot in the top-four race. You would imagine that the Bianconeri will be the favourites for that one, having remained unbeaten in the last six games (four wins too).

  1. I cried for the 4-3-3, gaffer should not have listened to me… I blame the gaffer, it’s always the gaffer’s fault really

    1. Yeah, let’s play Pavlovic as the striker and move Leao to CB in 3-5-2. About as wise as playing 4-3-3 with Leao as the CF.

      1. We created zero and let in 3, there was no cover to be had with a 4 man defense, we could have played Rafa at the wing and let in a couple more since there is no cover to be had from him, 4-3-3 is a nightmare

  2. Can this Milan beat, nay, not lose against Atalanta and Juventus, fuck it, even against the remaining teams: Genoa, Sassuolo, Cagliari, Verona? I see it now an impossiblilty to remain in the top 4. Players have crumbled mentally, we thought Pulisic and Leao would regain physically since last half season, to now remaining 6 games and they have provided nothing in 3 months. Fulkrug useless, Nkunku lost his spark since his last penalty goal in February, Rabiot seems disinterested, Jadhari barely is allowed to play, Modric can’t do everything by himself. Tactics are outdated and teams have uncovered us. Useless attack, defense unable to keep goals out. Middlefield that can’t control their section of the pitch. The alarms bells hve been ringing since January, but goals by Rabiot, Pavlovic, Modric, and non attackers have put bandaids after band aids. Now we see the true status of the squad.

Do not be surprised if champions leagues in not achieved! Cómo and Roma can 100% leapfrog us. Again will this Milan beat able to NOT lose against the remaining teams they have to play?
