It seems that the work is already starting at AC Milan with Ruben Amorim making a specific request to sign a player already.
When a new manager is hired, it is not uncommon for them to look at signing a player with whom they have worked. In fact, it is rather common, as seen with Massimiliano Allegri and Adrien Rabiot last summer – and perhaps this summer, too.

Amorim asks for Trincao
For Amorim, it is not a galloping midfielder, but rather a technically gifted forward in Francisco Trincao. As Daniele Longo reports on X, the Portuguese forward is a ‘specific request’ from the new head coach and contacts are expected to begin soon.
With at least 15 goal contributions in his last three seasons, he looks like he could be a fantastic addition to Milan’s attack, which again needs to be balanced. After all, they struggled when Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic went quiet.
The Portuguese was exceptional under Amorim previously, too, which would only make his desire for a move for the former Barcelona man much greater, given he has seen him at his best.
At 26, he is entering the prime of his career and there will be no real pressure to sell from Sporting with a €60 million release clause in his deal, which expires in 2026. It may be somewhat of a long shot, but Amorim will have to see, especially with it not being his only request.
His contract exires in 2030. Milan can’t spend €60 million on a single target.

Get ready for all the “gifts” Cardinale is supposedly going to get for Amorim. Whipping fans into a false frenzy is a specialty of the Italian press…Until Milan actually sign a player, I certainly won’t be holding my breath.
