Spezia director praises Milan loanee with ‘international profile’ and confirms details of deal

Ahead of the season, Milan decided to send a few players out on loan and one of them was Tommaso Pobega. The midfielder featured in the pre-season and also did well during his loan spell at Pordenone in 2019/20.

The 21-year-old has made 15 appearances for Spezia in Serie A this season, adding three goals and two assists to his name. He hasn’t always been a starter for the team, but he has managed to gain some valuable experience this season.

Milan have made it very clear that they want to keep Pobega for many years as they believe he could become a great player. In an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, as cited by MilanNews, Spezia’s director Mauro Peluso praised the Milan loanee.

“He’s an international profile, he also did well with Italy’s U21. We have a buy-out clause and there is also a buy-back clause,” he stated.

As he revealed, Spezia do have a buy-out clause but there is also a buy-back in favour of the Rossoneri, which will be exercised. It remains to be seen if he will be promoted to the first team next season or sent out on loan again.
