Spezia director reveals details of loan deal with Milan as midfield starlet shines

Milan have started the season in the best way possible and they have their midfield to thank for it. In Stefano Pioli’s system, Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie have been absolutely crucial.

Given their age (22 and 23), the future is looking bright for Milan and it doesn’t end there. In addition to Sandro Tonali (20), who is on the bench, the Rossoneri could also rely on Tommaso Pobega (21) next season.

The midfielder was loaned out to Spezia at the start of this season and has started his adventure really well. In six league appearances, he has scored two goals and also bagged a brace for Italy’s U21 side last night.

In an interview with Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews.it, Spezia’s sporting director Mauro Meluso revealed all the details of the loan deal. Fortunately for Milan, they will be able to bring him back for next season if they want to.

“Pobega is in a magical moment and we are happy about this. We are very happy, but we would have been more if Milan had granted us a buy-out option without the buy-back clause.

“However, Milan and their sporting director Massara know well that he is a player of perspective and for this reason, they did not want to give him up permanently,” he stated.
