Sportitalia: Ibra and Moncada want Conte but Furlani has another coach in mind

Interesting updates continue to filter regarding who AC Milan might have as their head coach from the start of next season, and a report has claimed there is a difference of opinion within the management.

Sportitalia are reporting that Antonio Conte met in person for the second time with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who is pushing to appoint him on a three-year contract ahead of the 2023-24 season.

However, Conte accepted the second meeting out of respect for the president and while he did not decline the job, he took his time because he was not convinced and in a very polite manner he listened to what De Laurentiis had to say.

In the background there is the idea of returning to Milano. That is his main objective, and the priority seems to be coaching Milan given that Inter have Simone Inzaghi and are unlikely to sack him unless they have a collapse.

There has been no direct meeting with the Rossoneri though. Geoffrey Moncada and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are pushing for a future with Conte as per the source, but CEO Giorgio Furlani would have to be convinced.

He isntead is thinking of Thiago Motta for various reasons: the fact he is a young and exciting coach, the high salary Conte would want and the construction of the team. Conte’s priority is Milan, but everyone at the club must be united in agreement.
