SportItalia: Lecce keen on highly-rated academy product – Milan’s stance is clear

By Isak Möller -

As comes with a successful youth academy, Milan are used to getting loan requests from Serie B sides for their youngsters. However, at a certain age, the Rossoneri need to decide whether to bet on the player on not.

This is the case for Tommaso Pobega, who spent last season on loan at Serie B side Pordenone. They nearly gained promotion to the top tier, knocked out in the semi-finals, and the Milan midfielder was a very important player for the team.

As reported by SportItalia (via MilanNews.it), Milan believe a lot in the 21-year-old and don’t intend to part ways with him. He recently signed a new contract with the club until 2025, but that doesn’t rule out another loan experience.

Lecce are monitoring the situation carefully and have expressed their interest. Initially, it seemed Pobega could be the fourth choice for the midfield this season, but as Milan are looking for one more midfielder, a loan could be the best solution.
